What to Do/Schedule of Events

Hawaii is one of the best places in the world to enjoy the sun, surf and sand.  We will have plenty of activities planned during the week of our wedding.  Of course, these activities are all optional.  We want you to think of this week as your vacation.  Please see the full schedule of activities below.

Monday, Nov 25 Activity Description/Location
11:00 am - 4:00 pm Golf Round 1 of the Espiritu Halagao Golf Championships at Hawaii Kai Golf Course.  Call Fintan at Tee Time Tickets at (808) 922-0431 to make your reservations.  Cost: $90 per person.
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Surf Lessons* Learn the sport of Hawaii.  Strut your stuff on a surfboard.  Meet in Waikiki directly behind the Duke Kahanamoku statue at 9:00 am.  Cost:  $30 per person.
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Sunset Catamaran*** Sail away on a catamaran under a Hawaiian sunset.   Meet in Waikiki at the beach directly behind Duke's Restaurant at 4:00 pm.  Cost:  $10 per person
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Dinner & Drinks*** Join us for a casual evening at Waikiki's newest bar and restaurant.  Meet at Tiki's Restaurant at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.  Cost:  Variable per person
 

Tuesday, Nov 26 Activity Description/Location

9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Ocean Kayaking* Kayak from Kailua Beach to the Mokolua Islands, which are about 2 miles off the coast. Meet at Kalapawai Market at 9:00 am. Cost: $10.50 per person 
9:00 am - 1:00 pm Sunbathing & Swimming** Bask in the white powdery sands and swim in the crystal blue waters of Lanikai Beach (near Kailua Beach), considered the most beautiful beach on Oahu.  Cost:  FREE  
11:30 am - 4:30 pm Golf Round 2 of the Espiritu Halagao Golf Championships at the Coral Creek Golf Course.  Call Fintan at Tee Time Tickets at (808) 922-0431 to make your reservations.  Cost: $70 per person.
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm Girls Night Out** Groove on down at "Ladies Night" at Honolulu's popular Ocean's Club. Meet at the outdoor bar at Restaurant Row next to Ocean's.  Cost: No Cover 
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm Boys Night Out* Hang out with the boys at a local bar famous for their tropical drinks and Jawaiian music.  Meet at Mai Tai's, located on the top floor of Ala Moana Shopping Center. Cost: No Cover

Wednesday, Nov 27 Activity Description/Location

1:45 pm - 3:00 pm
Wedding Rehearsal If you are a member of the Bridal Party, please meet at the lobby of the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel at 1:45 pm.  
5:00 pm - 10:00 pm Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Rehearsal Dinner will take place at the Hau Terrace of the Halekulani Hotel.  Fully-validated self-parking up to six hours is available.

Thursday, Nov 28 Activity Description/Location
8:00 am - 1:00 pm Golf Round 3 of the Espiritu Halagao Golf Championships at the Luana Hills Country Club.  Call Fintan at Tee Time Tickets at (808) 922-0431 to make your reservations.  Cost: $80 per person.
4:30 pm - 10:00 pm Thanksgiving Luau  Join us for a genuine Hawaiian luau on Thanksgiving.

If you are staying at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel, bus leaves promptly at 4:30 pm outside the front lobby of the hotel.  

If you are staying in Waikiki, another bus will pick up passengers outside the Tapa Tower of the Hilton Hawaiian Village at 4:30 pm.  Most of you will be of walking distance.  If not, park your car at the lot on the corner of Maluhia and Kalia Road.  The parking lot is directly across the street from the Hilton and Hale Koa Hotels.  Parking will be between $13-$15.

If you are driving yourself, please arrive at Germaine's Luau by 5:30 pm.  Travel time takes approximately 45 minutes.  Directions are provided on their website.


Friday, Nov 29 Activity Description/Location
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Bridal Party Pictures Members of the bridal party will meet at the lobby of the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel at 2:00 pm for pictures.
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Explore the Grounds of the Kahala Mandarin We encourage all our guests to walk the grounds of the historic Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel.  The Kahala's own lagoon is home to a family of dolphins.
4:00 pm - 4:45 pm Outdoor Wedding Ceremony We will exchange our vows at the Koko Head Gazebo during a ceremony that will blend Filipino, Hawaiian and Western cultures.
4:45 pm - 5:30 pm Cocktails by the Beach Quench your thirst from a selection of Hawaiian tropical drinks.
5:30 pm - 11:00 pm Wedding Reception Dine, drink, dance and celebrate the union of A.J. and Patricia.  You will be treated to feast of Filipino and Hawaiian food, hula, local songs, and dance music that will get you out of your seats.
 

Saturday, Nov 30 Activity Description/Location
2:00 pm - whenever  Open House Please visit our new home in Hawaii Kai before saying aloha.  We will have plenty of food throughout the day.  The address is:

From Waikiki:
1.  Find your way to H1 East.
2.  H1 East will eventually  turn into Kalanianaole Highway.  
3.  Travel about 6-7 miles until you reach Lunalilo Home Road.  (Foodland Market will be on your left.)  
4.  Turn left onto Lunalilo Home Road.
5.  Travel about 2 miles.
6.  Turn left onto Maniniholo Street (which is the 2nd left turn after you pass Hawaii Kai Drive.)
7.  Our light yellow house (963) is the tenth house on the right.
8.  Park anywhere.

Diamond Head Hike For breath taking views of Waikiki and Honolulu climb the famous Diamond Head.  Hike is relatively easy and suitable for all ages.  Cost: $1 
Windward Coast Beaches Explore the sandy white beaches of East Oahu - Sandy Beach, Waimanalo Beach,  and Halona Point Lookout (beach from "Here to Eternity). Cost: FREE
North Shore Drive to the North Shore and check out big wave surfing.   Cost: FREE
Windsurfing Learn to windsurf from one of the world's best windsurfing beaches, Kailua Beach.  Call Kailua Sailboards & Kayak at (808) 262-2555.
Dolphin  & Whale Watching Take a ride on a zodiac boat and watch whales and dolphins on Hawaii's leeward coast.  Visit www.dolphinexcursions.com for more information.
Snorkeling Snorkel Hanauma Bay in East Oahu.  Footsteps from the beach rests one of Hawaiian's most beautiful coral reefs, surrounded by majestic plants and plenty of animal life.
Pearl Harbor Visit the memorial that houses the sunken hull of the battleship USS Arizona, a tribute to the men and women who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II. Visit www.nps.gov/usar/ for more info.
Bishop Museum Explore the largest museum in Hawaii and the premier natural and cultural history institution in the Pacific. Visit www.bishopmuseum.org for more info.
Iolani Palace Go back in time to visit the official residence of King Kalakaua and his successor, Queen Lili'uokalani until the Hawaiian monarchy was overthrown. The palace is the only state residence of royalty in the U.S.  Visit www.iolanipalace.org for more information.
